Sisterhood and Beyond

GNF Founders' Day

Founders' Day is always a special event for GNF sisters. We hold special activities, often with other alumnae and collegiate chapters.

CELEBRATING SISTERHOOD

OUR FOUNDERS'  - REMEMBERING 166 YEARS
SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2018

WATCH FOR DETAILS IN 18!

In 2017, GNF had a special brunch with all the décor deckeed in pink and white, banners, carnations, flower pots with seeds and carnation mints, and door prizes.
Our new Heart to Heart - Theta Epsilon Chapter at Kennesaw State University presented Collegiate Today!

In 2016, the theme, "Mary, Mary, and Martha" focused on the lives of our founders.  Mary Ann Dupont Lions' great, great granddaughter (GNF Vice President of Program) wrote a booklet about our founders. This booklet along with bookmarks with GNF events and activities on the front and creed on the back were provided to alumnae. Did we mention, presenters dressed in hertigage period costumes?

Throughout the years, we have joined other Atlanta area Phi Mu Chapters including Atlanta, North Cobb/Cherokee, and Gwinnett Alumnae, Kennesaw State University and Georgia Institute of Technology Collegiate Chapters.

In 2010, GNF hosted the Metro Atlanta Founders' Day. Theta Zeta Phi Mu House at Georgia Tech was the location host. GNF Executive Board and planning members, National Headquarters Carnation Coordinator, and the Chapter Advisor for Theta Zeta planned this alumnae and collegiate event. Phi Mu National Council Presidential nominee was the keynote speaker.  As Theta Zeta was our Heart to Heart Collegiate Chapter, GNF provided the chapter a hand-made 1852 Satin Quatrefoil along with dinner for house residents.

Donations for the Mary Hall Freedom House, Inc. sponsored by The Atlanta Area Panhellenic Association were contributed by Phi Mus at Founders' Day.  Items included women toiletries and children's necessities and toys for the shelter house.
